- Dress, or a skirt and blouse

- No flip flops, athletic shoes

6th Grade
- Short, white gloves
- Short, white gloves are available for $10.00 a pair during the September and October classes
- Sunday dress, or a blouse and skirt
- Hemline that is at or below the knees
- Skirts need to have a waistband
- No pants or spandex showing from under skirts
- No spaghetti straps or halters
- No bra straps or stomachs showing
- No gloves for this class
- Pumps or flats are preferred
- No athletic shoes or flip flops
- Sandals with a strap on the heel are okay until November
7th, 8th, and 9th Grade
- Sunday dress, or a blouse and skirt
- Hemline should be at or below the knees
- Skirts need to have a waistband

Formal Attire
- Gloves
- Length: Strapless dresses and dresses with spaghetti straps require gloves that are long and over the elbow
- Color: The color of gloves is determined by the color of the dress
- Cotton gloves dye well if you want to match your dress, and/or you may decorate your gloves with beads or sequins
- White is always appropriate
- Black gloves look good with black dresses, but you can also wear long white ones
- Dress
- Tea-length and floor-length dresses are permitted
- Tea-length dresses are mid-calf and perfect for 6th grade girls
- Floor-length is misleading as it actually stops just below the ankle
- Make sure that the length of dress has the correct shoes to avoid it dragging on the floor
- Cocktail dresses are not permitted
- Cocktail is anything above the knee
- Strapless gowns are not permitted
- A slip is recommended to prevent see through material
- Tea-length and floor-length dresses are permitted
- Shoes
- For a 6th grader, it can be a patent leather Mary Jane, a dress pump, or an open toe with a very small heal
- Stocking or dressy socks are recommended
- For everyone else, evening shoes
- Evening shoes can be open toe and or open back
- For insurance purposes, JMC requires that the heel has a strap
- We strongly suggest that the heel height be moderate and not extremely high
- Hose are recommended, but not required
- Shawls are not recommended, but permitted
- For a 6th grader, it can be a patent leather Mary Jane, a dress pump, or an open toe with a very small heal
Parents will receive a notice if a student is dressed inappropriately, and the student may be sent home.
